Italy – RJ seminars and film screening “A Conversation”
16/11/2018 - 17/11/2018
Our board member Patrizi Patrizi, together with other Italian colleagues, will present on RJ during a series of seminars entitled “Dal carcere alla comunita’: metodi e percorsi per una possibile sinergia” (From prison to community: methods and paths for a possible synergy). The first two days, on 16-17 November, will anticipate other activities in which Patrizia is involved to celebrate the international RJ Week 2018.
On Friday 17 November in Firenze, Patrizia will also introduce, screen and discuss the film A CONVERSATION (No Theatre 2017) based on a theatre play where two families engage into a dialogue after the rape and murder of a young girl, launched by the EFRJ on the occasion of the international #rjweek 2017. About 100 people will attend this screening, including members from the SerD Toscana (Servizi per le Dipendenze patologiche– services for pathological addictions) and CEART (Coordinamento Enti Ausiliari Regione Toscana- coordination of auxiliary bodies in region Tuscany), but also office staff of external law enforcement and execution, such as psychologists, educators, social workers, community workers, medical toxicologists and psychiatrists. The film will be screened with Italian subtitles thanks to the work done by the teams at Sassari University and PsicoIus in Rome (EFRJ members volunteered to subtitle the film in 16 languages!).
This is one of the many screenings that are taking place across the world since the launch during the RJ Week 2017. Only during that week the film was screened in 68 different venues in 26 countries and reached about 3000 people from different fields of expertise (e.g. mediators, lawyers, psychologists, criminologists, probation officers, prison staff, policemen, artists, researchers, policy officers, educators, youth workers, activists…).
