The IIRP invites you to submit a proposal to present at its 12th World Conference, October 21-23, 2009, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania,USA

The deadline for proposals is March 30.

This interdisciplinary conference will provide an international
perspective on restorative practices theory and practice in a variety of settings, including education, social welfare, criminal justice, community development and workplaces.

Most IIRP conference presenters are not professional speakers. Aside from a few featured speakers (see below) and videos, our conferences are created by you and others like you who have submitted proposals to present in 50-minute breakout sessions. We encourage you to share your experiences and knowledge. No formal papers are required. Presenters receive a reduced registration rate.

FEATURED SPEAKERS

HOWARD ZEHR, restorative justice pioneer and author of the influential "Changing Lenses: A New Focus for Crime and Justice," will present a talk entitled "The Call of Restorative Justice: Tapping and Sustaining the Moral Energy."

WILMA DERKSEN will describe a victim advocate's approach to restorative justice.

FRANK FRUCHTEL will discuss the use of family group conferencing in Germany.

JENNIFER LLEWELYN will report on Nova Scotia's provincial restorative justice initiative.

ESTELLE MACDONALD will talk about the progress of Hull, UK, in building a restorative city.

A PANEL OF EDUCATORS from West Philadelphia High School will discuss the use of restorative practices in an urban American school.
