Bratislava 2027
14th international seminar of the EFRJ
Bratislava (Slovakia), 3-4 June 2027
Please save the date for the international seminar 2027, which will take place on 3–4 June 2027 in Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia.
The seminar will be jointly hosted by the NGO Restart (represented by Tomas Horehaj), and Comenius University (under the leadership of Prof. Tomáš Strémy), bringing together a multidisciplinary team of academics, practitioners, policymakers, and civil society representatives.
The event will be held either at the Faculty of Law – Department of Criminal Law, Criminology and Criminalistics or at the nearby philosphy faculty.
The seminar will explore restorative justice from both theoretical and practical perspectives, revisiting its foundations, legal frameworks, established practices, and emerging fields of application. Discussions will address the growing prevalence of punitive cultures across different sectors of society (criminal justice as well as in schools, workplaces, sports organisations, public discourse, and the media) where punishment, blame, and polarisation often overshadow dialogue and accountability.
The programme will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and opportunities for networking and international exchange. The 1.5-day seminar will bring together about 100 participants from Europe and beyond. In order to organise your travels, please save the draft schedule below in your calendars:
