Alexia Stouraiti, one of our local organisers in Athens and a committed member of the EFRJ, presents her striking photographic project, Connecting the Dots. The exhibition is on display in the networking area of the conference centre hosting our seminar. In 2018, Alexia visited a small town in Germany, where she met and interviewed individuals with strong connections to both Greece and Germany. Through these conversations, she captured a rich mosaic of experiences from people who have crossed borders, or whose families have. Among the accounts is that of an unaccompanied minor, offering a poignant perspective on the human dimension of migration. But there’s a interesting twist: the portraits do not correspond to the stories. Visitors are encouraged to guess which face belongs to which narrative — an invitation to reflect on our shared humanity and to challenge stereotypes. To aid the process, symbolic "dots" serve as visual hints, linking each story to the appropriate portrait. The outcome is a thought-provoking, interactive journey into identity, migration, and connection. Hence the title: Connecting the Dots. |
