The deadline for the nominations is 20th April 2026.

Board members will have to sign up to the Code of Conduct of the EFRJ Board members. This means that candidates must agree to this Code of Conduct and sign it once elected. Also, an online meeting is planned for the new board to elect the Executive Committee on  24th June 2026, 9 am CEST (Brussels time) – we kindly ask the candidates to keep this moment free in their agenda.

The preferred profiles of the new Board members are:

  • Strong experience with NGO management, financial management, fundraising or communication/marketing expertise, or
  • Strong background in research, teaching and academic work, or
  • Strong experience in policy.
  • A good working level of English is desired.

For a balanced geographical representation preference is given to candidates from Southern European countries and from Belgium (for administrative and legal reasons). Intersectional and gender diversity are especially important in line with our internal policies. Please note that coming from an EU member state is not a requirement. Organisational members have to nominate a person for Board membership, not the organisation as such.

Still, ANY application from any full member is welcome! Applications must come with a nomination of the candidate by a proposer and a seconder (from two different countries, both full members of the EFRJ).
Candidatures have to be submitted through the link below.

Please contact the Selection Committee at efrjboardelections@gmail.com if you have questions.

By 14th May 2026, the Selection Committee will publish on the EFRJ website an overview of the candidates, together with the names of their proposers and seconders and their introduction.

Voting will be organised through an online platform, allowing EFRJ full members to cast their vote from about 1 week before the AGM and the voting will close on the AGM.

Please find out more information on the election procedure in the official documents of the EFRJ.
