This webinar aims to equip participants with practical tools to encourage chronically absent students to come to school, and create belonging without othering.

The 13th International Conference of the European Forum for Restorative Justice, entitleed "Echoes of Restorative Encounters: Voices, Evidence, and the Ripple Effects of Restorative Justice in Action" will take place between 11–13 June 2026 in Poznań, Poland, hosted by the Faculty of Psychology and Law at SWPS University, and organised in collaboration with the university and the European Mediation Institute.

The Criminal Justice Platform Europe (CJPE) – EuroPris, CEP, and the European Forum for Restorative Justice – are pleased to invite you to Barcelona for the 8th edition of its Summer Course. In 2026, we address a critical gap in our systems with the theme: “She Matters: Gender-specific approaches to Women and Girls in Criminal Justice Settings”.

Learn about restorative justice and its special areas through our online events. 

We offer each year a number of online and in-the-room courses; and on request: tailor made training events in various fields restorative justice and related subjects.

Events that are organised in the framework of projects we are engaged in. 

We aim to offer platform to explore and discuss the most recent challenges and developments related to restorative justice through our conferences organised every second year (in May or June, in even years only, for about 350-380 participants). 

Every two years (odd years only), between May or June, the EFRJ organises an international thematic seminar, limited to 120-130 participants, hosted by its members in a different location in Europe.

To celebrate our 20th anniversary, at the end of the year 2020 (30 November - 5 December), the European Forum for Restorative Justice organised an online festival bringing together arts, research and practice with the aim of offering a forum to discuss justice, solidarity and repair in today’s societies.

Our summer schools concentrate on various areas of restorative justice every second year. 

Since its establishment in 2012, the Criminal Justice Platform Europe (EuroPris, CEP and EFRJ) organised thematic seminars and summer courses bringing together professionals from these different fields, i.e. prison, probation and restorative justice.

This webinar will explore how we as adults can learn to regulate our own nervous system state and respond appropriately when others appear dysregulated. The webinar will be especially useful for school leaders, managers, teachers and educational or residential social workers.

Online webinar presenting the new practice guide for everyone committed to environmental justice with a restorative mindset. The event is hosted by members of the EFRJ's working group on environmental restorative justice, the authors of the book.   

This webinar is a basic introduction to the key values and principles of relational and restorative practice in a school setting, where two experienced trainers and educators will explain what you can expect to see and hear in a relational and restorative school on a daily basis, and what policies ensure that there is consistent practice across a whole school. 

The fourth edition of the EFRJ's Winter Academy takes place between 2nd - 6th February 2026 in Leuven (Belgium) offering 2 practice-oriented courses on A) Advanced Restorative Justice Skills & B) Restorative Schools.

The EFRJ Values and Standards Committee invites you to a series of conversations reflecting on our
core restorative values. On Thursday 23 October 2025 the focus will be on Restoration: register now to this free webinar.

Join the upcoming five-part online course on restorative evaluation with Dr Terence Bevington. The online lessons will take place every two weeks, to give you the time to reflect, apply what you are learning in your own context, and return with fresh insights and questions to deepen the shared learning.

Join other trainers at the second Restorative Trainers' Retreat in Kortrijk, Belgium between 8-11 September 2025. This special event invies trainers to share practices, challenges, inspiring ideas and activities and model the art and craft of training delivery with a restorative mindset. This year's theme focuses on the use stories and narratives in training. 

The 7th International Criminal Justice Summer Course will take place from the 1st to the 4th of July 2025 at the Centre for Legal Studies and Specialised Training (CEJFE) in Barcelona, Spain. Organised by the Criminal Justice Platform Europe (CJPE) in collaboration with CEJFE, the course brings together professionals from across Europe working in prisons, probation services, and restorative justice.
The theme of this edition is “How to Promote Change: Strengthening the Professional Role within Restorative Justice, Probation Services, and Prisons”. 

Join the 10th edition of our Summer School "Restorative Justice Responses to Harm in Institutions" in San Sebastián/Donostia (Basque Country Spain) between 16-20 June 2025! The event will explore the topic of organisational / institutional harm and the potential of restorative justice in responding to it. With trainers Tim Chapman and Raul Calvo in English & Spanish language.

The 13th International Seminar of the EFRJ (Athens, 16-17 May 2025) will focus on the transformative potential of restorative justice to address the vulnerabilities faced by children on the move. From refugees and asylum seekers to those displaced by climate change, these children face heightened risks of violence, exploitation, and discrimination. By drawing on the metaphor of an 'odyssey,' this seminar will explore how restorative practices can create pathways of inclusion, resilience, and empowerment for children on the move while fostering dialogue with host communities. The seminar will take place at the Conference Center of the University of West Attica, and is organised in collaboration with the Department of Social Work and the Centre for the Study of Social and Humanitarian Crises.

Join the Restorative Schools Working Group for a free webinar on transforming school culture through relational and restorative practices on the 8th of May at 4 pm CEST. Participants will be the first to receive the publication introduced at the meeting. 

As part of the programme of the DOCVILLE Festival, we host a debate after the screening of the documentary Sugarcane, on 1 April at the cinema Kinepolis Leuven. This event is part of our REstART initiatives on arts and restorative justice.

Right-wing extremism is no longer a marginal phenomenon, but it is an issue that involves and affects large groups of society. What can restorative justice mean with respect to such challenge? The webinar on right-wing extremism and restorative justice is scheduled on 25 February 2025.

The third edition of the EFRJ's Winter Academy takes place between 3 - 7 February 2025 in Leuven (Belgium) offering 2 practice-oriented courses on A) Restorative Justice and Imprisonment & B) Basic Restorative Training Skills. Currently both courses are full, but you can sign up for the waiting list. 

This webinar has the objective to focus on how restorative justice is implemented with children in contact with the law (not necessarily in conflict with the law) and on the effects that restorative justice can obtain for victims, offenders and the community. Register now (for free)!

This half-day online workshop on restorative stories (15/01/2025) is a deep dive into how folk and fairy tales enhance restorative practice and support restorative culture change within ourselves, our communities, organisations and wider contexts. The workshop is limited to 24 participants: register now!

This webinar (13th of January at 4 pm CET) will deepen attendees' understanding of the systemic violence that underlies specific violent acts and polarised contexts, and how this informs restorative practices.

As part of our REstART initiatives, we organise a film screening in the city that hosts the EFRJ, Leuven, on 12 December at 19:30. The documentary "Au delà de nos larmes" tells the experience of the collective "Retissons du lien", composed by people with different types of lived experience of the terrorist attacks in Brussels 2026.

This taster workshop on storytelling and restorative justice (11/12/2024) focuses on how traditional stories support restorative justice and are also provocations to think in new ways as they invite the listener to connect personal experience to collective understanding. A 3-h workshop will follow, organised for a small group of participants in January.

Launch event of the publication "From Survivors to Survivors: Conversations on restorative justice in cases of sexual violence" (2023), together with editors and authors, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25 November 2024).

This event is part of a series organised by the  EFRJ Working Group on Gender-Based Violence as part of the campaigns for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. It will take place online on the 18th of November at 16:00-17:30 CET.

Following the positive experiences of the last CJPE Summer Course, the 2024 edition continues to address a subject closely related to mental health, focusing on resilience in criminal justice settings.

The 12th international EFRJ conference "Just Times: Restorative Justice Responses in Dark Times" will take place in Tallinn (Estonia) on 29-31 May 2024. Registrations open in January!

“Time to Talk” is a moment of reflection dedicated to start a conversation about specific challenges that the organization is facing. Some may be more practical and easy to solve; others may be more related to the fundamentals of restorative justice. EFRJ members can join us on Zoom on 28 November at 16h CET.

In 2023,a new film on restorative justice was released in France. "Je verrai toujours vos visages" will be screened at Cinema ZED in Leuven during the International Restorative Justice Week, followed by a debate hosted by the European Forum for Restorative Justice.

The second and special edition of the series Living Our Values will exploring confidentiality in restorative justice - this special edition will mark the Restorative Justice Week 2023, and free access is offered to everyone.

The deadline to submit your proposal for the 12th EFRJ conference (Tallinn, 29-31 May 2024) is 17 December! One month before, we organise a one-hour info session to explain topics and format of the workshops. This is the occasion to ask all your questions!

Share and seek ideas that help to prepare the 2023 Restorative Justice Week Campaign: Reform & Repair!

The first edition of a series of conversations reflecting on our core restorative values organised by the EFRJ Values and Standards Committee will focus on voluntariness. 

In 2023, the EFRJ organises its 10th Summer School in Varna, Bulgaria on the subject of prisons & restorative justice. The event will take place between 24 - 28 July 2023.

The 5th edition of the International Criminal Justice Summer Course is dedicated to ‘Mental health issues in criminal justice’, and it will take place in Barcelona, at the Centre for Legal Studies and Specialised Training.

In 2023, the EFRJ is organising its first ever Restorative Trainers’ Retreat. The event invites trainers to share inspiring models and practices of how to facilitate restorative learning, to learn from each other and spend 4 special days together in a unique location.
