Performance "Dissonanze in Accordo" by Rondine during REstART 2025

Dissonanze in Accordo

Rondine Cittadella della Pace (Italy)

Dissonanze in Accordo is a musical performance featuring testimonials from young people from conflict and post-conflict contexts, sharing their message of peace on stage. They all live in the World House of Rondine Cittadella della Pace, a residential community located in Italy where international students from conflict-affected regions live (with their “enemies”), study, and engage in dialogue to transform conflict into opportunities for understanding and change. Their personal stories are interwoven with classical music and visually striking video art, creating a powerful stage experience that reflects resilience, hope, and shared humanity.

Clair Aldington (UK)

Chosen as a universal garment, the T-shirt forms a reflective space on the harms and motivations underlying political violence, the possibilities of restorative justice, and the power of non-verbal communication in dialogue. In this installation, the artist, designer and restorative practitioner Clair Aldington brings together a series of T-shirts including the voices of the members of The Encounter of the Encounters, a group composed of people with lived experience of restorative justice in cases of political violence, terrorism and/or armed conflict from the Basque Country, Belgium, Italy, Northern Ireland, Ukraine, Israel and Palestine.

"Inside the distance" during REstART 2025

Inside the Distance

Sharon Daniel (USA)

The multimedia interactive documentary "Inside the distance" stages re-enactments about restorative justice encounters as described by victims, offenders and mediators. It explores the position of each party and the many ways in which these positions are fluid. The project was developed by professor and artist Sharon Daniel in cooperation with a series of Belgian partners who gave her access to victims and offenders who participated in a restorative justice process in order to conduct her research project.

The Polarity Party by the MichaelDouglas Kollektiv

The Polarity Party

MichaelDouglas Kollektiv (Germany) with Dana Caspersen (USA)

“The Polarity Party” is an immersive, participative event on polarisation where choreography and conflict engagement meet. There is no performance and no spectators, instead simple actions such as walking, sitting and talking become tools for reflections and interaction. The hosts/ creators of the project are dance artists who act as guides as participants move through a series of carefully crafted, action-based situations and configurations. Participants are invited to consider the questions: What is polarisation? What does it do in us? What do we do with it?
