Commission Reconnaissance et Réparation

The CRR (Recognition and Reparation Commission) was created in France in 2021. It is an independent commission for the recognition and reparation of alleged sexual violence committed by religious members of various institutions – notably religious institutes members of the Catholic Church CORREF - Conference of Religious Men and Women of France – and the United Protestant Church of France (EPUdF). The institutes affiliated with the CRR voluntarily assume their full moral and institutional responsibility towards victims of sexual abuse and agree to embark on the path of restorative justice.

l’Institut Français pour la Justice Restaurative (IFJR) was created in 2013. The founding team of the IFJR, chaired by Professor Robert Cario, for several years pioneering the JR in France, is immediately at heart, in collaboration with other national and international researchers, to allow a specific debate on restorative justice (JR), fueled by both research and practice. The initial approach is simple and fundamentally participatory, with the aim of sharing knowledge and experiences.
