The JUSTIN project, coordinated and implemented under the Erasmus+ call in partnership between the Czech Institute for Restorative Justice and the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic, develops the possibilities of restorative justice in cases of serious crime.
The project – lasting 22 months, from April 2022 to February 2024 – builds the capacities of mediators to implement mediations or similar restorative meetings in cases of serious crime in both countries by creation of a methodological manual, by cooperation of representatives of the above-mentioned partner organisations with a foreign partner from Finland (Criminal Sanctions Agency – RISE) and the Flemish restorative justice organisation Moderator, by training mediators facilitating restorative meetings of victims, offenders and other participants, and by expanding the experience gained in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and other European countries in partnership with the European Forum for Restorative Justice.
