The 2nd edition of the REstART Festival featured 17 events in 6 days across 8 venues in Brussels & Leuven bringing together more 330 participants.

On Human Rights Day we are launching the Manifesto for Restorative Justice and Human Rights again. In the recent days, more than 50 organisations and 100+ individuals signed the document. Join us if you share our vision that access to restorative justice should be recognised universally as a means to uphold human rights and as an inherent component of them!

The European Forum for Restorative Justice (EFRJ) invites you to take an active role in shaping the programme of its upcoming conference (Poznań - Poland, 11-13 June 2026). Known for encouraging dialogue among a wide range of professionals, the EFRJ conference offers a unique platform to explore, challenge, and co-create restorative justice in diverse contexts and across borders. Submit your proposal by 10 December 2025.

The “Leuven International Short Film Festival” launched a call for submissions including restorative justice as part of the festival’s non-competitive thematic programme! Short films (max. 35 min) can be submitted until 15 August (early bird deadline: 15 April).

Strengthened by research findings as well as practice experiences, the European Forum for Restorative Justice (EFRJ) believes that each victim should have the possibility to freely and voluntarily decide to start a safe and high-quality restorative justice process.

This call serves to update our database on teaching programmes on restorative justice. Please submit your courses by 10 January 2025. Only teaching programmes at the university level will be included on the EFRJ database, but you can always let us know about other teaching (or even training) programmes that can be included in an internal database at the EFRJ Secretariat.

The call for participants to join one of our Committees or Working Groups has been launched! EFRJ members (with active or new membership) can apply before 13 January (extended deadline) to max two groups. If you know experts in the different areas beyond the EFRJ membership please invite them to join us for the next two years mandates.

We are looking forward to welcoming the participants of the 3rd Winter Academy in Leuven (Belgium) between 3-7 February 2025 on the two specialised courses. They can learn about the essentials of restorative justice and imprisonment; or acquire basic skills of restorative training delivery from some of the most inspiring and engaging experts in the field. Both courses are full at the moment, but you can sign up for the waiting list.
