Updates on REstART 2025

Programme updates and some REstART initiatives throughout the year 2025.

REstART 2025 highlights the works of different international artists who have contributed to raising awareness about restorative justice through various art forms (such as theatre, dance, storytelling, film and documentaries, multimedia arts, sound and music). Check the programme and organise your trip to Leuven on 6-9 December!

The "Powerful Intersection Between Restorative Justice and Art” series is a special initiative by the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) in partnership with the European Forum for Restorative Justice (EFRJ), featured on the “Restorative Works!” podcast. This four-episode series seeks, through discourse with artists, to examine art's unique ability to connect, facilitate dialogue, and repair harm.

This call for hospitality addresses Leuven-based citizens (or others in the cities nearby) to support the organisation of the REstART Festival 2025 (Leuven, 6-9 December 2025). There can be different ways to be involved and contribute: whether you have a few hours to spare, a room to share, or just want to lend your hands and heart, every act of hospitality helps build the kind of community we envision in Leuven restorative city.

The Leuven International Short Film Festival included restorative justice in its call for submissions, to celebrate the 25th years of the restorative justice movement in Europe. Short films (max. 35 min) ca be submitted until 15 August (small fee per each submission).

We are seeking proposals for participatory workshops, interactive experiences, and artistic interventions that engage participants in meaningful dialogue and creative expression related to restorative justice and any other forms of dialogue between conflicting parties. Join us for REstART 2025!

Join us in Leuven on 1 April! The event organised as part of the programme of the DOCVILLE International Documentary Film Festival to start the celebrations of the 25 years of restorative justice in Europe.
