Restorative justice is not only a “programme” or “service” for those affected by violence and injustice. It is also a movement, a living practice that takes different shapes wherever harm occurs. From criminal justice settings to communities, schools, organisations, families, and workplaces, restorative justice adapts to context while holding the same core values: justice, truth, responsibility, solidarity and the respect for human dignity.
The artworks and creative practices in this REstART Resource Kit are grouped by genre (i.e. films & documentaries; performing arts; and exhibitions and immersive experiences) and they refer to different areas of application for restorative justice. We hope these ideas can best support the restorative justice community to identify the artists and artworks that can best fit their purposes (awareness raising campaigns, events, trainings, research, policy work, etc).
This page was created by the team of the REstART Festival 2025, as a gift to further celebrate the 25th anniversary of the European Forum for Restorative Justice. Please contact us if you wish to include other relevant resources and contacts in this list: this is work in progress!
