The constitution of the European Forum for Restorative Justice was adopted on December 8, 2000 in Leuven (Belgium). It lays down the aims, objectives, activities and principles of functioning of the organisation, and governs the division of work between the different bodies of the organisation.
The constitution of the European Forum for Restorative Justice (EFRJ) is accompanied by a memorandum. This text describes restorative justice and its development and explains the reasons why the EFRJ has become an official organisation. The memorandum is not part of the constitution and therefore has no legal status.
