Registrations open in January 2024: find our more about the “Pay-What-You-Can” model.

Early bird: 15 March/ Deadline to register: 30 April

Some important deadlines first!

Registrations to the 12th international EFRJ conference open in January 2024. Keep an eye on the deadlines below:

  • 15 February is the final date to submit your waiver application (i.e. discounted ticket).
  • 15 March is the early bird deadline.
  • 30 April is the last day to register (as we must inform our local service providers with exact numbers for materials and catering).

EFRJ members’ discount

EFRJ members benefit from a discounted rate (- 100EUR).

This automatic discount is available once you login to the website with your credentials. Make sure you join or renew your membership in 2024 first.

If you face issues to login, or if you have doubts about your membership, or if you are an organisational member willing to register more employees, please contact our Finance & Administration Officer Zsofia Anda.

“Pay-What-You-Can” model

Since few years, the EFRJ has been exploring different ways to make its events more inclusive (e.g. granting waivers to the fees, or by proposing the “Pay-What-You-Can” model). The income of EFRJ events is crucial to support the costs of the organization, but fees are not meant to be an obstacle for your participation.

The “Pay-What-You-Can” model allows you to choose how much to pay for the conference, based on 3 different fees. You are invited to register with the average fee (see table below). We calculated that we need 260 participants to cover the costs for the 3-day conference (including one social dinner and one local field visit),  the opening reception and the 2023 European RJ Award ceremony. Costs include the rental of the venue; the travel, accommodation and food of keynote speakers and EFRJ organizing team; printed and other materials disseminated in the conference bag; lunch and coffee breaks and one social dinner.

If you are able and wish to contribute more, you can pay the solidarity fee (+ 50EUR). This will support others to pay a lower fee. If you wish to sponsor other services, please get in touch! If the average fee is too high for you, you can pay the reduced fee (- 50EUR) without giving any explanation. If even the reduced fee is an obstacle for you to participate, you have time until 15 February to apply for a partial or full waiver to the fee (more info below).

Registration average fees

The fees below are the average registration fees of our “Pay-What-You-Can” model. The registration form will include also the solidarity fee and the reduced fee: you finally choose the fee fitting best your situation.

Cancellation policy

If you cancel your registration to the Conference before 15 April 2024, you will receive a refund of 70% of your registration fee. If you need to cancel your participation after this date for a 'vis major' reason (including Covid-19 infection), and you can provide a proof of this, you may get a voucher for another EFRJ event in the future in the value of maximum 50% of your registration price. In other cases we cannot refund your registration fee. You may transfer your registration to another participant without any costs until 10 May 2024. The EFRJ is not responsible for other costs due to your cancellation: we advise that you ensure that your travel bookings, such as flights and accommodation, include cancellation policies.

Waivers

The EFRJ will grant about 5 (full/ partial) waivers to participants for whom it is financially difficult to attend the conference. Applicants must be members of the EFRJ from June 2022 or earlier. Full waivers cover the full registration fee, i.e. you will register for free; partial waivers will cover half registration fee, i.e. you will get a 50% discount on the fee. Transports and accommodation are not covered by the waivers. The deadline to submit a waiver request is 15 February 2024. The main criteria for the selection are: experience, profession, motivation, and country representation. We will evaluate each request and inform you about the results within two weeks after the deadline. In case of negative response, the early-bird reduced fee applies.

If you are not a member (yet!) and the average fee is too high for you, you can pay the reduced fee. Get in touch if this is still an obstacle for you to join the event: the EFRJ and its local organisers always search for local funding supporting the participation to the conference (registration fee only, for members and non-members), or we can issue an invitation letter for your own funding application.
