The RJWorld 2020 eConference was a pioneering online event bringing together the global community around restorative justice virtually. The speakers (including 32 contributors on behalf the European Forum for Restorative Justice) from every continent shared their talks (presentations or discussions) via pre-recorded video talks and hosted live Q&A sessions on video conferencing platforms. As such an event was organised for the first time, we thought that is important to reflect on it.
Martin Howard was a key person behind the conference, he conceived the format and organised the event. We invited him for an interview. The interview touches upon the following topics?

  • What is Martin's connection to restorative justice?
  • What was the idea behind the eConference?
  • How was it organised and how did experience the outcome?
  • What lessons can be drawn for the future?
