Your opinion matters!

A survey on the EFRJ events in 2021: it will take 10 minutes! The deadline is 9 November 2020.

Dear European Forum for Restorative Justice (EFRJ) members, friends and followers,
We are contacting you to have your opinion on the future steps we should take with the EFRJ activities.

The Covid-19 crisis showed how our world is interconnected and requires changes in our behaviours and future plans. Our countries are constantly indicated as safe, accessible, dangerous, or closed, making it difficult to plan the upcoming gatherings with our international community. We are challenged to keep distance and still stay connected, to slow down and still move forward, while being confronted with many social dilemmas around physical and mental health, economy, safety, and justice.

In the past months, the EFRJ and its members have been quite creative in responding to this new situation with (often innovative!) actions that matter in our international community as well as in the local communities we live and work. In case you missed it, we collected restorative justice stories and experiences in corona-times in our Restorative Blog.

At the EFRJ, we are looking for ways to stay connected, share experiences, get inspired, and strengthen our community. Since the future seems uncertain, we are currently reflecting on different action plans in 2021, including the 11th international EFRJ conference in Sassari.
Please respond to the survey below before 9 November 2020: your opinion matters! It will take 10 minutes.

Stay safe and connected,
The EFRJ team

As you may know, we had to postpone our 11th international conference in Sassari (planned in June 2020). As the forecast for 2021 is still blurred, we developed different options regarding the conference. Please read below the different plans (A & B) and specify your level of agreement/ disagreement to the statements below: (1) Strongly disagree; (2) Disagree; (3) Neither agree nor disagree; (4) Agree; (5) Strongly agree.

Our 11th conference, originally planned in June 2020, is now scheduled for June 2021. In order to organise it in 2021 we may change the venue (within Sassari) and parts of the programme to comply to the Covid-19 measures. What are your thoughts about it?

Please specify your level of agreement/ disagreement to the statements below: (1) Strongly disagree; (2) Disagree; (3) Neither agree nor disagree; (4) Agree; (5) Strongly agree.

I would like the EFRJ to keep organising the conference in June 2021 in Sassari, Italy.
I believe that I will feel comfortable and safe to travel (by plane/ boat) to Sassari in June 2021.
I am interested in Sassari 2021, even if changes occur in the venue to comply with Covid-19 measures (i.e. instead of the conservatory, a larger venue or open spaces outside the city of Sassari, or different venues spread within the city).
I am interested in Sassari 2021, even if changes occur in the scientific programme because of Covid-19 measures (e.g. no field trips accessible by bus; workshops with limited participants present; plenaries streamed in different auditoriums).
I am interested in Sassari 2021, even if the social programme has to be reduced because of Covid-19 measures (e.g. no social dinner; no reception; lunches and coffee breaks in different shifts).
I can take the risk that the conference is cancelled last minute, as it happened in 2020.

Our 11th conference, now scheduled for June 2021, may look quite different to what we had planned originally in terms of facilities and programme, as you saw above. What are your thoughts about postponing it to 2022 to be able to offer the full programme and social experience as planned for 2020?

Please specify your level of agreement/ disagreement to the statements below: (1) Strongly disagree; (2) Disagree; (3) Neither agree nor disagree; (4) Agree; (5) Strongly agree.

I prefer the EFRJ to postpone the full programme of the conference to June 2022 (still in Sassari, Italy).
I prefer the EFRJ to propose alternative events for 2021 (share your ideas below!).
I will probably feel more comfortable and safe to travel (by plane/ boat) to Sassari in June 2022.
I prefer the conference to take place in one central venue for all participants.
I would prefer to participate in the scientific programme originally planned (e.g. 7 field trips, 12 parallel workshop sessions, 4 live plenaries).
I would prefer workshops accessible for all participants without participation limits.
I would like to experience the social programme originally planned with all participants (e.g. social dinner, reception, breaks allowing me to meet all participants).

Please specify your level of agreement/ disagreement to the statements below: (1) Strongly disagree; (2) Disagree; (3) Neither agree nor disagree; (4) Agree; (5) Strongly agree.

Our 11th conference may be postponed to 2022, but we still wish to organise events that connect our community in 2021. Also, we would like to use the EFRJ conference budget (co-funded by the Justice Programme of the European Commission) and generate income for the EFRJ in 2021. Do you have any concrete proposals/ ideas to share? Below we propose ours: use the comment box to add yours!

The EFRJ may organise a series of paying webinars (i.e. asking for a registration fee, different for members and not-members).
The EFRJ may organise more paying online training (i.e. asking for a registration fee, different for members and not-members).
The EFRJ may organise and coordinate a series of paying local small scale conferences/ seminars across Europe in June 2021.
The EFRJ may coordinate a series of fundraising events across Europe (e.g. walks with local teams).
The questions below will help up to have an idea about potential fees and schedules of our events in 2021.
