To celebrate the Restorative Justice Week 2021 we make available the recordings of the first three episodes of this webinar series. You can watch them between 21 - 30 November 2021.  Scroll down to watch the videos!

Since the beginning of 2021, the European Forum for Restorative Justice (EFRJ) and the National Association of Community and Restorative Justice (NACRJ) have been engaging in conversations to expand perspectives and identify synergies between the restorative justice movements in Europe and in the USA.

While most cooperation happens “behind the scenes” in internal meetings between representatives of the two organisations, the NACRJ and EFRJ  want to create a space for dialogue on the application of community and restorative justice around key issues relevant across different parts of the world. The idea is to stimulate exchange, debate, reflection, and cooperation between the two regions as well as the two organisations.

The webinar series

Every few months , we will invite two or more speakers from Europe and from the USA to reflect on various topics through restorative justice lenses. Topics are selected because of their relevance for both European and American audiences interested in the theory and application of restorative work. We are especially considering the impact of restorative justice initiatives in criminal and juvenile justice systems (e.g. cooperation with the judiciary; restorative work in prisons, restorative approaches for youth), restorative practices in schools and cities (e.g. approaches to culture and discipline, trauma centered responses, building youth capacity to address conflict), and restorative approaches to key societal issues (e.g. community involvement in justice matters; political and other polarisation, hate crime and extreme violence).
